The Government of Ghana has appointed Prof. Naail Mohammed Kamil, a senior academic at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), as Deputy High Commissioner to Malaysia. He has since assumed duty at the Ghana High Commission in Kuala Lumpur.
Prof. Kamil previously served as Head of the Department of Human Resource and Organisational Development at the KNUST School of Business. He is recognised for his scholarly work in Islamic Management and Islamic Banking and Finance.
He holds a PhD in Business Administration (Comparative Organisational Behaviour) and an MBA in Islamic Banking and Finance from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
He also holds a BSc in Geological Engineering from the then KNUST School of Mines (now the University of Mines and Technology), and an LLB from the University of Cape Coast. He has a strong foundation in Islamic Theology and is a certified Hafiz of the Qur’an.
Prof. Kamil has taught and supervised research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels across Ghana, Malaysia and the United Kingdom, and has presented at conferences in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas.
He has been associated with international research bodies including the World Academy of Islamic Management and the International Association of Islamic Economics and Finance. He is also a Professional Engineer with the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Ghana.
He currently serves as College Coordinator for Short Courses and Programmes under the Centre for Capacity Building and Innovation (CCBI), College of Humanities and Social Sciences, KNUST.
